They want typewriters, not iPods

I just thought this bit of news was worth reblogging from Kevin L. Ferguson's typecast:

"I’m heartened that at least 2/3 (so far) of the winners of a college-wide student writing contest have elected to take, as their prize, a typewriter rather than an iPod."

Even at 100 years old a typewriter is still not obsolete. Can't say the same for and iPod. In a year it'll be obsolete.

I wouldn't say a year old iPod is obsolete. Heck, I've got a five-year old iPod that is still being used. Not as much as my 20+ year old Sony Mini-Disc player...
